Crematory Size Calculations
How To Determine Cremator Capacity Needed
Info Needed:
A. | Total number of animals at site |
B. | Sell weight of individual animal |
C. | Number of days animals will be on site |
D. | Mortality Rate |
Formula to determine daily cremator needed:
A x B / C x D = Daily Capacity Required
Example: Poultry |
||
---|---|---|
3 broiler houses with 23,000 birds per house, 4.5 pounds per bird, on the farm for 44 days with 4% mortality. |
||
A. | Total number of animals on farm | 69,000 |
B. | Sell Weight of individual animal | x4.5 lbs. |
=310,500 total | ||
C. | Divide above total by number of days animal will be on site | 44 days |
=7057 | ||
D. | Mortality Rate | x.04 |
Daily capacity required or pounds per day | 282 |
Capacities shown for cremators are based on practical usage. Actual capacity is affected by cremator size, animal size, use of grate, timely clean-out and other factors.
Formula to determine daily cremator needed:
A x B / C x D = Daily Capacity Required
Example: Swine |
||
---|---|---|
3 finishing houses with 1100 pigs per house. 220 pounds per pig. |
||
A. | Total number of animals on farm | 3300 |
B. | Sell Weight of individual animal | x220 lbs. |
=726,000 total | ||
C. | Divide above total by number of days animal will be on site | 152 days |
D. | Mortality rate | x.03 |
=4776 | ||
Daily capacity required or pounds per day | 143 |
